Louis Farkovitz Guitars Vintage Designs

Farkovitz' early work was devoted to headstocks. Pickguards were more ambitious, followed by an entire thematic treatment. These first guitars were created prior to the year 2000.

The Celtric Cross was made for a client, and was the first guitar that included a pickguard, which follows this image.

A very simple treatment, this first pickguard simply carries the Louis Farkovitz Studios chamsa logo.

A much more playful, and naughty, approach to the headstock is depicted with this headstock. Notice the circular finish of the first layer, built up with the image of the Devilette.

In this third edition, the the pick guard is also complimented by a body embelishment in the shape of a penatagram, atop a medallion. These knobs were original to the guitar.

This headstock is much more stylized along the lines of most of Farkovitz' original jewelery designs, most reminiscent of his Zodiac pendant collection. Finely detailed, symbolic, and clean. raised, rounded and lush to the touch, the Rocket Guitar is impressive.

The first stylized original knobs, and knob rings amp up the thematic quality of this guitar.

Again, the pickguard is less stylized but the impact strong in concert with the rest of the custom knobs, budy and highly stylized headstock.

Farkovitz deeply appreciates a curvaceous female body and often depicts women in his guitar and custom jewelry designs. An angelic depiction of Melody, his muse, is created here for the first time. She reappears in a 2012 depiction of Unchained Melody - linked from this description.
